The Oculoplastic Society of South Asia was created to bring the Oculoplastic surgeons from the region together on one platform. We need to be together as we share similar disease pattern, similar resources, similar problems and limitations and we could learn a great deal from the experiences of each other.
The society aims to raise the standard of the specialties of Oculoplastic, Orbit, Lacrimal and Facial aesthetics in the region and to bring about greater cohesiveness and cooperation amongst those practising the specialty in the region. The society aims to bring about collaborative efforts in improving education, services and research in the specialty.
During the first few years of its functioning the society has created a constitution, carried out a registration as an international society, created a dynamic website, held multiple collaborative scientific meetings and promoted a much needed meeting of minds in the region which has the potential to bring about a much needed improvement in training and services related to the specialty across the region. The secretariat and the executive have been working very hard to nurture the society.
However, we are aware of the great responsibility to take the society to its full potential by widening its membership base and expanding our activities which can become a torch bearer to take the specialty to newer heights in the region.
We need to remember that our futures are tied together and we must work together to achieve all the success we require and deserve
